ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE <br />FIRE CAPTAINS AND FIREFIGHTERS AS ENUMERATED HEREIN FROM <br />AND AFTER JUNE 25, 2008, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6692. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. From and after June 25, 2008, initially payable July 11, 2008, Paramedic Fire <br />Captains, Firefighters and Paramedic Firefighters, hereinafter designated, shall receive as <br />compensation for their services such amounts and benefits as may be fixed by the City Manager in <br />accordance with the Administrative Regulations and the Civil Service Rules, which are hereby <br />approved and adopted and incorporated herein by reference, and the Monthly Pay Step Schedule, <br />included herein. <br />MONTHLY PAY STEP SCHEDULE <br />Pay <br />RangeTitle of Class Step B Step C Step D Step E Step F Step G <br />Code <br />Firefighters <br />11A390341204273438545084614 <br />Paramedic <br />11M439546314792490750345147 <br />Firefighters <br />Paramedic Fire <br />16M535356505849599861616267 <br />Captains <br />Section 2. From and after July 1, 1985, all full-time non-executive, non-administrative <br />or non-professional employees shall be subject to the work week or work cycle and regulations <br />relating to overtime work except as noted. A listing of executive, administrative, and professionally <br />designated employees or positions shall be issued by the City Manager. <br />The work cycle of uniformed Fire personnel below the rank of Battalion Chief shall be 27 days or <br />216 hours per cycle. Hours worked in excess of these totals, when authorized in advance by the Fire <br />Chief, are customarily paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) of base plus incentive pay. <br />Compensatory time may be granted by the Fire Chief with accumulation not to exceed 480 hours. <br />Hours worked, including vacation hours, between 204 and 216 hours, in any one cycle shall be <br />compensated for, in addition to their regular rate, at one-half (½) of that employee’s regular hourly <br />rate. <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />
