3. Bill 8993 – An ordinance fixing the compensation to be paid to the Fire Captains <br />and Firefighters as enumerated herein from and after June 25, 2008, and <br />repealing Ordinance No. 6692. <br />Mr. Price moved for the passage of the compensation bill to the Fire Captains <br />and Firefighters and was seconded by Mr. Glickert. <br />Roll Call Vote was: <br />AYES: Mr. Price, Mr. Crow, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe, Jr., and Mayor Adams <br />NAYS: Mr. Wagner <br />Ms. Ricci removed herself from the dais for the vote. <br />Bill 8993 passed and became ordinance 6745 <br />Mr. Price wanted to be sure that other issues stayed on tract as recycling, look <br />into cooping for benefits, working with other municipalities to coop the fire <br />department services and the redevelopment of Olive Street. <br />4. Bill 8994 – An ordinance amending Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of University City, Missouri, relating to zoning districts established pursuant to <br />Section 34-22 thereof, and enacting in lieu thereof a new office zoning map, <br />thereby amending said map so as to change the classification of property of the <br />portion of the lot as follows that is located with the City Limits of University City at <br />7384 Forsyth (a.k.a. 7440 Forsyth) from “GC” – General Commercial district, to <br />“PD-M” – Planned Development – Mixed-Use district; contain a savings clause <br />and providing a penalty. <br />Mr. Wagner moved for the passage of the compensation bill of certain City <br />Official and employees and was seconded by Mr. Glickert. <br />Roll Call Vote was: <br />AYES: Mr. Price, Ms. Ricci, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Crow, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe, Jr., <br />and Mayor Adams <br />NAYS: <br />Bill 8994 passed and became ordinance 6746. <br />K. NEW BUSINESS <br />L. CITIZENS’ COMMENTS <br />Eric Friedman, 7010 Washington <br />Mr. Friedman spoke on the CALOP Commission to which he is a member. He <br />stated that under previous City Manager, the CALOP Commission had no <br />understanding of what their budget was or where it was at. Mr. Friedman said he is <br />happy now to report that all have an understanding of CALOP’s budget. The <br />CALOP Commission just made two grants to the City of University City High School. <br />Many of the Commission members see their role as moving the community forward. <br />Mr. Friedman talked about ways CALOP can help support the City and thought they <br />could be of help in the promotion of the recylcing campaign. <br /> <br />
