The current ambulance is 8 ½ years <br />old and is beyond its useful life. Based on the call volume of University City, the <br />useful life of this type of vehicle is 5 ½ years. Staff spent the last few months <br />performing research and compiling specifications. An Invitation for Bids was <br />issued for the purchase of a new ambulance and the following four bids were <br />received: <br />Vendor Bid Price <br /> Emergency Services $159,980.00 <br /> Life Star Rescue $162,993.00 <br /> Foster Coach $151,616.00 <br /> American Response Vehicles $157,896.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Fire Department reviewed the bids and verified that <br />the low bid submitted by Foster Coach met all the bid specifications. Therefore it <br />is recommended an award be made to Foster Coach in the amount of <br />$151,616.00. <br /> <br />
