<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />June 2, 2008 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the <br />City Hall, on Monday, June 2, 2008, Mayor Adams called the meeting to order at 6:30 <br />p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance was Deputy City Manager/Finance Director Janet Watson in place of <br />Ms. Julie Feier who was out on maternity leave. <br /> <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. May 12, 2008, budget study session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe, Jr., seconded by Mr. Glickert and were approved unanimously. <br />2. May 15, 2008, budget study session minutes as amended were moved for <br />approval by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. and were approved <br />unanimously. <br />3. May 19, 2008, regular session Council Meeting minutes as amended were <br />moved for approval by Mr. Wagner, seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. and were <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br />E. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. Stefany Brot and Kevin Taylor were appointed to the Ruth Park Advisory <br />Committee by Mr. Price, seconded by Ms. Ricci and were approved <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />F. SWEARING IN <br />Joy Lieberman was sworn in to the Library Board <br /> <br />G. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />1. CDBG allocation for 2009 <br />The Public Hearing on the CDBG allocation was opened at 6:55 p.m. Ms. <br />Watson stated that the fund had a total of $103,400 which included: $31,000 for <br />Code Enforcement, $25,000 Police Services, $6,000 for Park and Recreation <br />Scholarships, $28,400 for Rehabilitation of Private Property Loan Program, and <br />$13,000 for Street and Sidewalk Improvement. The Council will make final <br />allocation approval at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Shirley Richman, 840 Oakbrook Ln <br />Ms. Richman was present representing the Salvation Army which promotes family <br />stability and independence. Their request was for $3,000 from University City’s <br />CDBG allocation. <br /> <br /> <br />
