Mr. Crow asked if the sales tax would be earmarked for anything in particular. Mayor
Adams stated that is not always good to be too specific.

The consensus of the Council was to move forward on the telephone survey estimated at
$7,000. General questions Council had for to survey would be which tax would be more
receptive to the residents, what the money is needed for, why do you need, and when do
you need it. Questions should give reasons but not be earmarked for anything definite.
Ms. Falk said it would take Terry Jones approximately five weeks to do a phone survey.
The consensus of the Council was to only pursue the property tax and sales tax increase.
The Council thought that the Economic Development tax increase was too restrictive of its
use.

The consensus of the Council told Ms. Watson to talk to Terry Jones and if any questions
arose in this discussion she would contact Council. Council stated they would like to see
the survey questions that Mr. Jones proposed.

Mayor Adams stated that all of the Council would have to be committed to the need of a
tax increase in order for it to succeed. The Council will also need to find the citizen
volunteers.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.

Joyce Pumm, City Clerk
