Mr. Wagner asked how many scales the City had and he was told twenty-eight, each
having six steps. He also inquired as to where the reviews were kept and Ms. Williams
said they were in her office. Mr. Wagner stated that the Civil Service Board minutes or
report needed to be presented to the Council.
Ms. Williams stated that an employee will sometimes be reclassified according to the
level of responsibilities for the job being performed or to keep in line with the outside
demand. An employee could have topped out at a present classification but could be
reclassified at a higher level and back into the step increases. The Department Director
requests the re-classifications and submits it to Human Resource for approval.
Ms. Feier said there will be a three hour study session on September 15 to discuss
classifications and benefits.
Ms. Williams stated that her department does a global comparison of other
Municipalities in determining the salary range for each classification.
Ms. Feier stated the Administrative Regulations will have employee benefits integrated
into it.
Time limit prevented discussion on Council Rules on their car mileage allowance.
Joyce Pumm
City Clerk
