Mr. Wagner opposed increasing any taxes until the Council and Administration work <br />together to eliminate known operational inefficiencies and to modify certain <br />compensation policies. <br />Mr. Price asked the City Manager what was the prevalent age in the Loop area. Ms. <br />Frier stated that it was a younger crowd. He stated that this age group was the faction <br />that were strongly against a charge to park on Municipal parking lots. Mr. Price felt that <br />the residents should be given the information and let them decided in an election. <br />The majority of Council agreed that the City would not seek a tax increase on the <br />November 2008 election. More discussion will take place in the near future about <br />putting a tax increase in the April election. The majority decided that the tax increase to <br />pursue at this point would only be the one-fourth cent sales tax increase. <br />Joyce Pumm <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />
