th
Fundraising for Students…Not Trivial!
On October 25 UC Education Foundation
and UC High School Alumni Association will hold its Trivia Night. Test your knowledge
about University City, as well as nine other subject areas, during the first Biennial Trivia
Night on Saturday, October 25 at the Heman Park Community Center, located at 975
Pennsylvania Avenue (63130). The event is being held to raise funds to benefit
students, programs, services and facilities within the School District of University City.
Doors open at 6 pm and the Trivia contest at 7 pm. For advanced registration, see the
District’s website www.ucityschools.org. The event costs $15 per person or $120 for a
table of 8. Seating is limited so make your reservation by October 14.

On Saturday, September 27, from 9 am to noon, local volunteers will roll up their
sleeves and devote their day to removing invasive Euonymus (winter creeper vine), and
litter along a stretch of the River des Peres in University City’s Ruth Park Woods. There
will be a registration table located at McKnight Road and Crixdale Lane, where
volunteers can sign up, collect their tools, and join the team.
While this special cleanup is part of National Public Lands Day, an annual event that
gives Americans across the country a chance to give back to the lands they use for
recreation, the cleanup in Ruth Park Woods is part of The Green Center’s and River des
Peres Watershed Coalition’s ongoing work to restore this urban, woodland jewel by
removing some of its greatest threats—invasive plant species and garbage.

Upcoming Meetings and Events:
Monday, Sept. 29 5:30 pm Emergency Council Meeting in the EOC Room,
in the basement of City Hall
Friday & Sat Oct 3 & 4: 9:00 AM- 4PM U City in Bloom Bulb Sale-
at Market in the Loop
Friday, Oct. 3: 6 PM-9PM Loop in Motion Festival
Saturday, Oct 4: Noon-9 PM Loop in Motion Festival
Monday, Oct. 6: 5:30 PM I.T.
