Three vendors responded. The bid <br />results are as follows: <br />BID RESULTS: <br />CompanyBid <br /> <br />MFR Tire $27,794.24 <br />Tucker Tire $30,020.00 <br />Mitchell Tire $30,512.00 <br />A detailed analysis of the tires bid was performed by the Public Works Fleet <br />Division. MFR Tire submitted the lowest bid on most of the tires specified for a <br />total of 112 various sized tires at a cost of $16,270.18. Tucker Tire bid <br />substantially lower on two other tire types for a total of 40 tires at a cost of <br />$10,240. Mitchell Tire bid higher on all tire types. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the contract award be split between MFR and Tucker. The <br />award to MFR Tire would be in the amount of $16,270.18, and to Tucker Tire in <br />the amount of $10,240, for a total of $26,510.18. Splitting the bid results in the <br />lowest cost on all tires specified. By splitting the bid between two vendors the city <br />will save approximately $2,000. <br /> <br />
