ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL <br />CODE, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING GENERALLY, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 10.40.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING <br />AND PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES—EXCEPTIONS, AND ENACTING <br />IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS “SECTION 10.40.020 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING PROHIBITED IN <br />SPECIFIED PLACES—EXCEPTIONS,” THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS <br />TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES FOR GOLF COURSE CUSTOMERS, ON THE <br />SOUTH SIDE OF GROBY RD. THEREOF FROM THE EAST LINE OF OLD BONHOMME <br />RD TO THE WEST LINE OF TULANE AVE;CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Chapter 10.40 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to STOPPING, <br />STANDING AND PARKING GENERALLY, is hereby amended by repealing Section <br />10.40.020 thereof, relating to Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified <br />places—Exceptions, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as “Section <br />10.40.020 Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places—Exceptions,” <br />thereby amending said section so as TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES FOR <br />GOLF COURSE CUSTOMERS, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF GROBY RD. THEREOF <br />FROM THE EAST LINE OF OLD BONHOMME RD TO THE WEST LINE OF TULANE <br />AVE; so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: <br />10.40.020 Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified <br />places—Exceptions. <br />It is unlawful for the operator of a vehicle to stop, stand or park such vehicle in any of <br />the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in <br />compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-controlled sign or signal: <br />A. Within an intersection; <br />B. On a crosswalk; <br />C. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within thirty (30) feet of points on <br />the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless the director of public <br />works shall indicate a different length by signs or markings; <br />D. Within twenty-five (25) feet from the intersection of curblines, or, if none, then <br />within fifteen (15) feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection, except at <br />alleys; <br />E. Within thirty (30) feet upon the approach of any flashing beacon or stop sign; <br />F. Within two hundred fifty (250) feet of any street intersection where traffic is <br />controlled by a traffic-control signal, unless a shorter distance is indicated by signs <br />posted near the curb by authority of the city, in which case the distance indicated by <br />such signs shall control; <br /> <br />
