The letter
requests WU support of a citywide art project in conjunction with the event. Thank you to
the Committee and the Historical Society. The new, standardized permit system reduces the
risk of potential fare evasion while helping to ensure that eligible seniors can ride for the
appropriate fare without any concerns regarding the validity of their identification. The
new permit also streamlines the process for Metro operators as they check identification
and collect fares. To find the most convenient location to obtain a Metro Reduced Fare
Permit, customers can use this link (if receiving report via email) for more information or
call 314-982-1495. The Metro Reduced Fare Permit is also available at the Downtown
MetroRide Center located at the corner of 7th and Washington inside America’s Center,
Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 PM. Once you have your senior
pass, think about joining CMT for its Ten Toe Express program. Citizen’s for Modern
Transit launched its Ten Toe Express program in the St. Louis Region in 2007 linking
walking with public transit use resulting in a healthier, more active lifestyle. The program
uses a two-pronged approach - targeting both older adults and employees for the work
commute - to encourage individuals to walk more and use public transit. Linking walking
and public transit use has been proven to increase independence, accessibility and
overall health. Official Ten Toe Express Walking Tours are held every Wednesday for
participants to step out and enjoy different destinations in St. Louis by foot, train and
bus. Each walking tour is led by a trained Ten Toe leader. The Ten Toe program is free
to participate and is a great opportunity to learn how to access your community through
"new" modes of transportation - your own two feet, the bus and MetroLink!
(CALOP) is
University City’s Commission for Access and Local Original Programming
seeking applicants for an open grant round effective immediately
.
Qualified individuals should submit applications that reflect CALOP’s goal to provide
programming that meets the arts, culture and history needs of University City and the
region that would not otherwise be met by other media outlets.
