Council Agenda Item Cover
________________________________________________________________
MEETING DATE:
January 5, 2008
AGENDA ITEM TITLE:
Resolution Delegating a Certain Level of Budget
Transfer Authority to the City Manager
AGENDA SECTION:
New Business
CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? :
Yes
BACKGROUND REVIEW:
The attached resolution required that the City
Council review this decision after one year to allow the City Manager to have
budget transfer authority within limits. Staff has provided the required reports
related to these transfers and there have been no outstanding questions on
them. We believe this delegation of authority to the City Manager provides for
efficiency in City financial operations. Staff will continue to provide quarterly
copies of the approved transfers to the City Council in their agenda packet and
the City Council will continue to approve transfers outside the authority of this
resolution.
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is to approve the attached
resolution deleting Item #6 (shaded on the attachment) regarding another review
of the resolution on a specific date. If Council would ever want to review this
issue again, they may do so at any time.
