INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Sharpe, Jr. DATE: December 8, 2008 <br />9014 <br />BILL NO.: ORDINANCE NO.: <br />AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING “ OLIVE BOULEVARD DESIGN <br />GUIDELINES” FOR ALL NEW DEVELOPMENT AND ANY <br />SUBSTANTIAL REDEVELOPMENT ALONG OLIVE BOULEVARD <br />WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council intends to adopt design guidelines to encourage <br />economic development, preserve historic buildings, and create useful and lasting <br />improvements that attract new market interest and private investment along Olive <br />Boulevard within the City Limits, between Skinker Boulevard and the east side of the I- <br />170 interchange; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council intends for the design guidelines to apply to all new <br />development and any substantial redevelopment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council intends for the design guidelines to supplement and <br />work with the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Code and other applicable standards; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission examined the “Olive Boulevard Design <br />Guidelines” which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission, in a meeting on November 12, 2008, <br />approved the “Olive Boulevard Design Guidelines” and recommended to the City <br />Council that they be adopted and enacted into an ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Historic Preservation Commission examined the “Olive <br />Boulevard Design Guidelines”; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Historic Preservation Commission, in a meeting on <br />November 20, 2008, recommended to the City Council that they be adopted and enacted <br />into an ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Council in <br />the City Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2009, was duly <br />published in the St. Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within University <br />City, Missouri on December ____, 2008; and <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the time and place specified in said <br />notice, and all suggestions or objections concerning adoption of the “Olive Boulevard <br />Design Guidelines” were duly heard and considered by the City Council. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />
