AND SIX A.M. ON ALL DAYS; <br />CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING PENALTY. <br />AGENDA SECTION: <br /> New Business <br />CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? <br />Yes <br />BACKGROUND REVIEW: <br />This is a new bill, No. 9018, for a revised curfew <br />ordinance. The curfew period is extended to 10:00 pm to 6:00 am for children <br />under 17 as requested by the Loop Special Business District and previously <br />detailed in Bill No. 9009, but now contains new language providing exceptions to <br />avoid Constitutional concerns. Language identical to that found in existing <br />Municipal Code section 9.20.020 and as in previously recommended amendment <br />th <br />Bill No. 9009 was found unconstitutional in the 9Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. <br />thth <br />The revised curfew ordinance is tailored after ordinances found by the 4, 5 and <br />D.C.
