BILL NO.______ ORDINANCE NO.___________ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.08 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNALS, BY ENACTING AND ADDING THERETO TWO NEW <br />SECTIONS AND ESTABLISHING THE PROCEDURE FOR CHANGE OF STREET NAME AND THE <br />STREET NAME CHANGE DESIGNATIONS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Chapter 10.08 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to Traffic Signs and Signals is <br />amended by enacting and adding thereto two new sections as follows: <br />10.08.070 Procedure for Change of Street Name <br />1. Petitions for change of street name(s) shall be filled with the Public Works Department on forms <br />approved by the Public Works Director. Each petition shall identify by address all properties <br />affected by the request and shall contain the signatures of all affected property owners who agree <br />to the proposed change. Each petition shall be accompanied by an application filing fee. <br />2. The Public Works Department reviews the petition. The Director shall consult with the Mapping <br />Division of the Department of Revenue and determine whether the majority of affected property <br />owners favor the street name change, whether the change could be made without undue <br />confusion in the provision of emergency, mail and other services, and the cost of signage for the <br />proposed change. Once all requirements are completed and upon receipt of the cost of signage <br />from the petitioner, the Public Works Director will forward a copy of the submittal to the <br />Community Development Department, Fire Department and Police Department for review. For <br />streets intersecting county or state roads, an informational copy will be provided to the St. Louis <br />County Highways and Traffic Department and/or the Missouri Department of Transportation. <br />3. If no objections, the name change petition will be submitted by the Public Works Director to the <br />Traffic Commission for review. The traffic Commission will make a recommendation to the City <br />Council. The City Council may effectuate the petitioned change of street name(s). <br />10.08.080 Street Name Change Designations <br />The following streets have been designated with names changes: <br />Street Name LocationName Changed To <br />HARVARDFrom Delmar to the north line of SGT MIKE KING <br />roadDR <br />Section 2.
