Scouts and service groups <br />are welcome; no experience necessary, trained crew leaders are on site to help out. <br />All tools and equipment will be provided. Follow the directional signage to the worksite <br />along the northern edge of Ruth Park Woods. Registration table and refreshments <br />located at the corner of McKnight and Crixdale. Parking is available along McKnight and <br />adjacent areas. <br />Annual Spring Arts Festival <br />The Green Center will host their on May 3 from 1:00 PM - <br />4:00 PM in Kaufman Park. They will have native plants for sale during the festival and <br />U-City in Bloom's Perennial Plant Sale <br />during the Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, <br />April 26from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Heman Park Community Center at 975 <br />Pennsylvania Avenue. They will have a variety of native plants available suitable for <br />most habitat types in your yard or garden (Woodland/Shade, Prairie/Sunny, & <br />Wetland/Rain garden).Native seeds are hand-collected from their outdoor learning <br />spaces, stratified and sprouted in their plant nursery. Seedlings are transplanted into <br />pots to grow in their greenhouse. All of this work is done by hand by Green Center <br />volunteers to encourage beautiful landscapes that are native to Missouri. <br />MSD will host eleven open houses <br /> across St. Louis City and County between March <br />26 and April 16 regarding their Clean Rivers Healthy Communities Program. Each open <br />house will be held from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The sessions closest to University City will <br />be in Richmond Heights and Wellston. The Richmond Heights session is Thursday, <br />March 26 at The Heights Center, 8001 Dale Avenue. The Wellston session is Tuesday, <br />April 14 at the Charles Brown Community Center, 1414 Evergreen Avenue. <br />This Tuesday, March 24 the Historical Society of University City will present the <br />CALOP film: <br />Gates of our Past, Gates of our Future <br /> the film about the restoration of <br />the Lions at the Gates of Opportunity in the University City Civic Plaza. The film will be <br />shown at 7 PM at the University City Library, 6701 Delmar. The film will be shown in <br />celebration of the 100 Year Birthday of our famous Lions. This is one of many activities <br />planned by the Birthday Bash Committee of the Historical Society.
