. <br />INTRODUCED BY: DATE: FEBRUARY 23, 2009 <br />9023 <br />BILL NO.: ORDINANCE NO.: <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION OF A <br />PROPOSITION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN TAX LEVY ON <br />ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS VALUATION FOR GENERAL <br />MUNICIPAL PURPOSES TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE <br />CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY AT AN ELECTION ON AUGUST 4, <br />2009. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council finds that it is necessary to submit the question of <br />increasing by .25 cents the tax levy on one hundred dollars valuation for general municipal <br />purposes to the qualified voters of the City of University City, Missouri. <br />Section 2. An election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the City of <br />University City, Missouri on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, for the purpose of submitting to the <br />qualified voters of said City the following proposition: <br /> PROPOSITION P <br />Shall there be a .25 cent increase in tax levy on one hundred dollars valuation for general <br />municipal purposes in the City on University City, Missouri? <br /> Yes No <br />If you are in favor of the proposition, place an “X” in the box opposite “Yes.” If you are opposed <br />to the proposition, place an “X” in the box opposite “No.” <br />Section 3. If a majority of the votes cast on Proposition P by the qualified voters <br />voting thereon are in favor of the proposition, then said increase in tax levy shall be in effect. <br />Otherwise, said increase shall not take effect. <br />Section 4. Said election shall be held in full compliance with all applicable laws. <br />Section 5. The City Clerk is directed to notify the Board of Election Commissioners <br />of St. Louis County, Missouri of the election and Proposition P prior to 5:00 p.m. on May 26, <br />2009, as required by law. <br /> <br />
