Council Agenda Item Cover <br />___________________________________________________________ <br />MEETING DATE: <br /> March 23, 2009 <br />AGENDA ITEM TITLE: <br /> Text Amendments to University City Municipal Code Chapter <br />8.28 Property Maintenance Code, Chapter 15.01 Residential Code, Chapter 15.02 <br />Energy Conservation Code, Chapter 15.03 Fuel Gas Code, Chapter 15.04 Building <br />Code, Chapter 15.05 Mechanical Code, Chapter 15.06 Electrical Code, Chapter 15.07 <br />Plumbing Code and with the addition of Chapter 15.045 Existing Buildings, hereby <br />replacing the current 2003 International Codes and amendments with updated 2006 <br />International Codes and amendments. <br />AGENDA SECTION: <br /> New Business <br />CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? : <br />No <br />BACKGROUND REVIEW: <br />Attached are proposed text amendments that update <br />previously adopted 2003 International Codes and amendments concerning construction <br />and property maintenance to the 2006 International Codes with amendments. In <br />addition, it is proposed that the 2006 Existing Building Code be adopted (Chapter <br />15.045) with amendments. A Code Review Committee of architects, engineers, <br />contractors, real estate professionals, lawyers, and Community Development staff <br />members was established in 2007 to review and create the attached updates to the <br />various codes. These documents are the outcome of that effort and are recommended <br />by Community Development staff. A public hearing is not required.
