<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />February 9, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the <br />City Hall, on Monday, February 9, 2009, Mayor Adams called the meeting to order at <br />6:30 p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance were City Manager Julie Feier and City Attorney John Mulligan. <br /> <br />C. PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. January 26, 2009, Regular Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Wagner, and were unanimously approved. <br /> <br />2. January 26, 2009, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Sharpe and were approved unanimously. <br /> <br />E. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. Thomas Byrne, Jr. was reappointed to the Plan Commission by Mr. Crow and <br /> was approved unanimously. <br />2. John Sweeney was appointed to the Parks Commission by Mr. Crow and was <br /> approved unanimously. <br /> <br />F. SWEARING IN <br />Patricia Hayes was sworn in to the Arts and Letters Commission <br /> <br />G. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br /> <br />H. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />I. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. Dennis Riggs with the CALOP commission was present to talk about CALOP’s <br />film “River DesPeres” which was recently shown at the Tivoli. Mr. Riggs is the <br />director of the higher education channel. Earlier, it was decided to create a show <br />and time slots to showcase the films and filmmakers that citizens of University <br />City have the courage to endow to make these film artworks. The citizens of <br />University City have received about five million dollars worth of air time each year <br />to view these films. This shows that University City is the center for arts and <br />culture in the metro area. These films can be seen on Charter channel 26. The <br />recent film “A Sewer Runs Through It” a film on River DesPeres has received a <br />lot of positive attention. Mr. Riggs has received a lot of comments leading to the <br /> <br />
