MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL
STUDY SESSION
MARCH 11, 2009
The Council Study Session, held in the Second Floor Conference Room of the City Hall,
on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, was called to order by Mayor Adams at 4:00 p.m. In
addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present:
Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr.
Mr. Terry Crow
Mr. RobertWagner
Ms. Lynn Ricci
Mr. ByronPrice
Also present were the City Manager Julie Feier, Deputy City Manager Janet Watson, and
the City Attorney John Mulligan.
Council discussed the City’s service levels and pending ballot initiatives relative to the
City’s long term financial health. The ballot initiatives were discussed. The general
consensus was to proceed with the Local Option Sales Tax realizing that this will not solve
the issue, but Council will continue to consider service reductions and utilize the reserves
to balance the budget if necessary as we continue to assess the economic downturn.
The City Manager’s evaluation process was discussed with review and the adoption of an
agreed upon form and process to be determined later after the council meet and discuss
further.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
Submitted by
Mayor Joseph Adams
