<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />March 23, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the <br />City Hall, on Monday, March 23, 2009, Mayor Adams called the meeting to order at 6:30 <br />p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance was City Manager Julie Feier. <br /> <br />C. PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. February 23, 2009, Regular Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Wagner, and were unanimously approved. <br /> <br />E. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. Beverly Brandt was appointed to the CALOP Commission by Mr. Wagner, <br />seconded by Mr. Sharpe and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />F. SWEARING IN <br />1. Diedra Lewis was sworn in to the Plan Commission <br /> <br />G. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br /> <br />H. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci asked to excuse herself as she was not feeling well. <br /> <br /> <br />I. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. Metro Agency to speak to Council <br />James Cali, Director of Internal Audit for Metro, was present to give the changes <br />in Metro’s transportation service after the end of March 2009. He noted that 19.5 <br />percent of bus & train service and 15 percent of Call-a-Ride service will be cut <br />due to lack of funding. Cuts effecting University City are: <br /> <br /> Route 60 Midland – eliminated completely <br /> <br /> Route 97 – will be extensively modified and will no longer serve Clayton <br />Center or Convention Center downtown but rather stop at the Civic Center <br />Plaza train station. <br /> <br /> Route 91 Olive will stop at New Ballas Rd and will not going any farther <br />west. <br /> <br />
