Manager Rose responded that there was no evidence that it was ever discussed at the Council
level.

Member McCarthy asked if pension payments are included in the budget Council approves. City
Manager Rose said yes, but Council still has to approve the expenditure.

AD&D Insurance
Mrs. Howze stated that the Pension Funds currently cover the costs of the $100,000 Basic Life
death benefit provided to active employees through the Standard Insurance Co. She introduced
the option of adding Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance to that existing coverage
as it is customarily offered at a nominal cost complimentary to Basic Life. The cost for both
plans would be $7,000 split between both plans based on employee populations.

Chairman Reedy asked why this would be an item for the pension board. Mrs. Howze stated
that the payment for the Basic Life is paid out of the pension funds and this would be an add-on
to the Basic Life.

Member Stutz asked if the board is allowed to approve adding the item. Attorney Krawzick
stated that the plan sets out all payments and the benefit would need to be added to the plan.
Mr. McCarthy stated and Attorney Krawzick confirmed that if the plan(s) are below 80% no
enhancements are permitted.

Chairman Reedy asked if it would be easier
the plan. Attorney Krawzick confirmed that would be permitted. Mrs. Howze said she would
explore that option.

Next Meeting Date(s)
July 23, 2019, October 22, 2019

Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m., with a motion by Member Jennings, seconded by Member
Wall and passed with unanimous consent.

А
