Session 1912 <br />February 23 2004 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams pointed out that residents have been advised over and over again, asking <br />how many times this would be necessary. Ms. Colquitt said this effort would be <br />sufficient, and Mr. Wagner agreed that there needed to be a letter to clarify matters. <br />Mayor Adams declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br />The motion passed by a majority, with Mayor Adams and Mr. Munkel voting nay. <br /> <br />University City Senior Service Outreach <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of a grant to the University City Senior Service <br />Board in the amount of $5,000 for outreach specialist services from March - June 2004. <br />The City Council included an allocation in the current year's budget for this purpose. <br />Office space has been made available at the Ochs Senior Center. The person selected <br />by the Senior Service Board would provide outreach in the community to inform our <br />older residents of programs, services, and facilities both at the Ochs Center and <br />elsewhere in the community and assist them to connect with these opportunities. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch move to approve this measure, and Mr. Wagner seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman asked if the employee in charge of outreach was selected by the Senior <br />Service Board, and was advised yes. Did the City review the criteria for the person <br />selected for the job prior to selection, he asked? Mr. Ollendorff said no; the Senior <br />Service Board has informed him about the selection process and the person, but had <br />not included him in the decision. Mr. Lieberman asked if the Senior Service Board <br />would be the supervisor, and was advised yes. He also wanted to know if the City <br />would be updated with progress and activity reports, and Mr. Ollendorff said he would <br />arrange them. <br /> <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that Bill No. 8709 would be delayed. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8709 - VACATING AND SURRENDERING THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF- <br />WAY BEHIND 7831-7853 OLIVE BOULEVARD, BUT RESERVING ANY <br />PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS, AND DIRECTING THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE <br />RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OF ST.
