Session 1932 <br />August 16, 2004 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended awarding individual projects to the Iow bidders, as follows: <br /> <br />PLS Plumbing <br />A-Alpha <br />A Brooks <br /> <br />TOTAL <br /> <br />$15,500.00 (6 repairs) <br />$17,100.00 (6 repairs) <br />$ 3,760.00 (2 repairs) <br />$36,360.00 <br /> <br />Picnic Beer License for Loop In Motion <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of the annually issued license to the University <br />City Loop Community Foundation to sell beer on October 2, 2004 on Leland at Delmar <br />during the Loop In Motion festival. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the Consent Calendar and Ms. Colquitt seconded. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff advised that several Public Hearings were scheduled. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #2 - Public Hearinq Zonin,q Text on Temporary Si,qns <br /> <br />A public hearing has been called for 7:30 p.m. in these Council Chambers on a <br />proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance which allows greater flexibility for use of <br />40 calendar days each year for businesses to set up temporary promotional signs. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing open at 7:40 p.m. and since there were no <br />requests from the public to speak, he declared the Public Hearing closed at 7:40 p.m. <br />and then asked Councilmembers to comment. Ms. Welsch asked if there is a rule about <br />the application or this ordinance and to whom does it apply. She cited the example of a <br />banner in the parking lot of the Church of Scientology which she noticed recently. Mr. <br />Ollendorff advised they were subject to this ordinance and he would check to see they <br />had obtained a permit. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #3 - Public Hearinq for Vacatinq Roth/Olive Walkway <br /> <br />August 16 at 7:30 p.m. in these Council Chambers is the time for a public hearing on <br />the request of adjacent property owners to vacate a walkway from Roth to 6975 Olive. <br />This alleyway has been the scene of misdemeanor nuisance activity. There are <br />alternate walkways to the east of Bartmer and to the west at Pennsylvania. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing open at 7:43 p.m. and since there were no <br />requests to speak he declared the Public Hearing closed at 7:43 p.m. and called for <br />comments from the Council. <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
