The amount of $15,250.00 was set aside <br />for the requirement. Five companies were invited to submit bids. The following <br />responses were received: <br /> <br />Company Name <br />Downing Sales <br />MWC Enterprises <br /> <br />Total <br />$14,900.00 <br />$16,517.40 <br /> <br />The City Manager requested that the award be made to Downing Sales for their Iow bid <br />of $14,900. <br /> <br />A,qenda Item # 2 - Public Hearinq - Heman Park Cell Phone Tower <br /> <br />A public hearing has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on October 11 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City of University City to give citizens the opportunity to comment on <br />the locating of a cell phone tower in Heman Park on a tennis court light standard. <br />Funds will be pledged towards tennis court improvements. <br /> <br />Joan Botwinick, 511 Westview Drive, requested the appointment of a Cell Tower Task <br />Force to study the legal, health, economic and aesthetic impacts of cell towers and for a <br />report from them within the six months documenting its findings. She further requested <br />that no permits be issues for towers in University City until the Task Force Report is <br />received and studied by the Council. <br /> <br />Amy Ziegler, 711 Yale Avenue, asked the Council to withhold a decision to lease land <br />for use of a cell tower until health aspects have been explored and understood fully. <br /> <br />Mary Nani Kenyon, 963 Gay Avenue, opposes a cell phone tower being erected in <br />Heman Park because of its impact on aesthetics.
