SESSION 1221 <br /> <br />MII'r0TES OF THE U~IVEPHITY CITY COUI~IL <br /> <br /> June 18, 1979 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City, held in the Assembly <br />P. oom of the City Hall on Monday, June 18, 1979, f~yor Joseph W. Mooney presided and <br />called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. The following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> <br />Hr. Lawrence Lieberman <br />~ir. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br />Hrs. CynthiaMetcalfe <br />Mr. Patrick J. Kelley <br />Mr. Allen Sabol <br />Hrs. Elsie Olickert <br /> <br />Also present were City }~nager Victor A. Ellman and City Attorney Dennis F. Kay. <br /> <br />MII~JTES <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Council meeting held on June 1!, 1979, were not ready for approval <br /> <br />OATHS OF OF/ICE <br /> <br />Mr. Joseph A. Walsh, recently appointed as a Captain in the Fire Department, was <br />sworn in by the Deputy City Clerk. ~layor !~oney drew attention to the fact that <br />Capt. ~;alsh's wife and children were in the audience. There was a round of applause. <br /> <br />l-ir. Patrick J. Ports, recently appointed to the Boards of Trustees of the Police and <br />Firemen's and Non-Uniformed Employees Retirement Funds, was sworn in by the Deputy <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br />~.k. Robert A. Cox, recently reappointed to the Library Board, was sworn in by the <br />Deputy City Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor 1.~oney said the City is in the debt of people like those who were Just sworn <br />in~ who give so much wise counsel and guidance and time so willingly. <br /> <br />~2POINTMA/Tf OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BOND ISSUE WATCHDOG C~4MITTEE <br /> <br />In response to suggestions which have been made, Mayor Mooney said a watchdog com- <br />mittee has been appointed to oversee the administration of $1,200,000 in street <br />provement bonds. The Mayor said it is hoped that Forsyth Boulevard can be improved <br />this fall, with other streets being done within the next calendar year according to <br />a schedule of priorities which will be set up very soon. The names of the citizens <br />on the committee are as follows~ <br /> <br />Mrs. Stella Hughes <br />Mx. Hugo H. Harper <br />Mrs. Sandra 9ussner <br />Hr. Dan Talonn <br />t~. Dave Stretfford <br /> <br />The committee has already met once, and will be working very closely in the future <br />with Mr. A1 Dieckgraefe, Director of Public Works, on the streets project. <br /> <br /> <br />
