SPECIAL SESSIOH 935 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF I/:E Ui.]IVEP3ITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />June 23, 1969 <br /> <br />At a special meeting of the City Council held Monday, June 23, 196{, <br />Mayor Nathan B. Kaufman presided and called the meeting to order at <br />7:30 P.M. In addition to the }~yor, the following members of the <br />Council were present: <br /> <br />i,{r. Lawrence Lieberman <br />Mr. H. Hadley Grimm <br />i-{r. Charles A. Werner <br />Mrs. Zelda Epstein <br /> <br />ABSENT: i~4rSo Harriett Woods (out of the City) <br /> <br />Also present were City Manager Charles T. Eenry and John J. ~,[orris, <br />Director of Law. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Question was raised by Councilman Epstein whether the Council actually <br />intended to hold a meeting of the Council on June 30th as reflected in <br />the Minutes of June 16th. Following brief discussion, it was agreed <br />that this can be decided later this evening. <br /> <br />Councilman Epstein moved approval of the Minutes of the Council meeting <br />held on June 16th, 1969, subject to deletion of that reference if the <br />Council so desires. ~otion seconded by Councilman Grimm and unanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br />C~4DI~ICATIONS: <br /> <br />PROPOSED REZONING OF %-~STOVER-RITTER PROPERTY:- <br />Upon inquiry by the Mayor whether any communications had been received, <br />the City Clerk called attention to a letter received today from Mr. A. E. <br />Bell, President of Triangle Realty Company, 7827 Olive Boulevard, con- <br />cerning proposed rezoning of the ~*Yestover-Ritter property - copies of <br />which had been placed on the desks of the Council members. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE - MRS. ELSIE GLICKERT,_ <br />Mayor Kaufman announced that the Council recently appointed ~rs. Elsie <br />Glickert as a member of the Council to replace Mro Carl I. I~tzen, who <br />has resigned. ~ne ~yor invited Mrs. Glickert to come forward, and de- <br />parting somewhat from tradition, the oath of office was administered by <br />the ~yor. <br /> <br />On behalf of the Council, Mayor Kaufman extended best wishes to Mrs. <br />Glickert in carrying out her assignments and duties, and expressed the <br />belief that she would contribute greatly in assisting to solve the many <br />problems that come before the Council. Mrs. Glickert then assumed her <br />position as a member of the Council. ~yor Kaufman introduced Mrs. <br />Glickert's family. <br /> <br />Father Russell J. Obmann, Pastor of All Saints Church, which i,irs. Glickert <br />attends, congratulated the Council on its wise decision in choosing Mrs. <br />Glickert and he spoke highly of her ability and dedication. <br /> <br /> <br />
