SPECIAL SESSIOH 935 MINUTES OF I/:E Ui.]IVEP3ITY CITY COUNCIL June 23, 1969 At a special meeting of the City Council held Monday, June 23, 196{, Mayor Nathan B. Kaufman presided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. In addition to the }~yor, the following members of the Council were present: i,{r. Lawrence Lieberman Mr. H. Hadley Grimm i-{r. Charles A. Werner Mrs. Zelda Epstein ABSENT: i~4rSo Harriett Woods (out of the City) Also present were City Manager Charles T. Eenry and John J. ~,[orris, Director of Law. MINUTES: Question was raised by Councilman Epstein whether the Council actually intended to hold a meeting of the Council on June 30th as reflected in the Minutes of June 16th. Following brief discussion, it was agreed that this can be decided later this evening. Councilman Epstein moved approval of the Minutes of the Council meeting held on June 16th, 1969, subject to deletion of that reference if the Council so desires. ~otion seconded by Councilman Grimm and unanimously carried. C~4DI~ICATIONS: PROPOSED REZONING OF %-~STOVER-RITTER PROPERTY:- Upon inquiry by the Mayor whether any communications had been received, the City Clerk called attention to a letter received today from Mr. A. E. Bell, President of Triangle Realty Company, 7827 Olive Boulevard, con- cerning proposed rezoning of the ~*Yestover-Ritter property - copies of which had been placed on the desks of the Council members. OATH OF OFFICE - MRS. ELSIE GLICKERT,_ Mayor Kaufman announced that the Council recently appointed ~rs. Elsie Glickert as a member of the Council to replace Mro Carl I. I~tzen, who has resigned. ~ne ~yor invited Mrs. Glickert to come forward, and de- parting somewhat from tradition, the oath of office was administered by the ~yor. On behalf of the Council, Mayor Kaufman extended best wishes to Mrs. Glickert in carrying out her assignments and duties, and expressed the belief that she would contribute greatly in assisting to solve the many problems that come before the Council. Mrs. Glickert then assumed her position as a member of the Council. ~yor Kaufman introduced Mrs. Glickert's family. Father Russell J. Obmann, Pastor of All Saints Church, which i,irs. Glickert attends, congratulated the Council on its wise decision in choosing Mrs. Glickert and he spoke highly of her ability and dedication.
