RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Land & Water Conservation Fund <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City is a developed city in the county of St. Louis; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council and the City Park Commission deems it necessary to <br />improve a public park to serve its citizens. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />University City, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. An application be made under the Land & Water Conservation Fund of the <br />Missouri Department of Natural Resources for a grant-in-aid of 45 percent of the total <br />cost of the lighting of Heman Park north fields, reimbursable upon completion by the <br />state. <br /> <br /> 2. That a project proposal be prepared and submitted to the Department of Natural <br />Resources, Division of State Parks. <br /> <br /> 3. The City Manager be authorized, to sign and execute the necessary documents <br />for forwarding the project proposal application for a grant-in-aid under the Land & Water <br />Conservation Fund. The City Manager is also hereby authorized to sign the project <br />agreement, subsequent amendments, and other necessary documents between the city <br />of University City and the state of Missouri. <br /> <br /> 4. If a grant is awarded, the City of University City accepts all responsibilities under <br />the Land & Water Conservation Fund regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, <br />maintenance of the park for public outdoor recreation purposes, compliance with the <br />provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, underground wiring of all telephone <br />and electrical wires under 15 KV within the park both under this project and in the <br />future, and provisions of facilities which are accessible to and usable by people with a <br />disability. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />UNIVERSITY CITY THIS 11th ~F~OCTOBER, 2004. <br /> <br /> ,.i".,. <br /> · ~/ c'"-\ ¥."'
