Session 1725, Minutes
June 8, 1998

19

change it. There are lingering issues that the City will need to address and he hopes
that they do so in a fair and equitable manner.

Mr. Schoomer remarked that the purpose of the conditional use is to identify these
conditions, which has been done by the Plan Commission, the City Manager and his
staff. These conditions must be met to the City's approval before any permit or
construction can begin.

Mr. Wagner moved to table the conditional use permit in order to further study and
clarify the various unanswered questions. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. The
motion failed 5 to 2, with Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, and
Mayor Adams voting Nay.

All voted Aye to approve the conditional use permit, except for Mr. Wagner who voted
Nay.

PERSONNEL REPORT:

Mayor Adams noted receipt of the personnel report for the week ending June 5, 1998.

CITIZEN COMMENTS:

Wendy Katz, 8708 W. Kingsbury, said that she understood that the Library had a
website which contained minutes for the Council and Ordinances. Apparently, there is
some problem getting these items scanned and these items are not showing up in a
timely fashion. She suggested getting temporaw help in to assist in getting this
information scanned into the web site. The Library employees were not even aware
that the web site existed. She found the discrimination comment from Mr. Munkel,
during Agenda ¢¢8, highly offensive.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS:

BILL NO. 8386 - AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE,
ADMINISTRATION, BY REPEALING SECTION 2-19, RELATING TO CERTAIN CITY
CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES TO BE APPROVED BY COUNCIL, AND ENACTING
A NEW SECTION 2-19. CERTAIN CITY CONTRACTS AND PURCHASES TO BE
APPROVED BY COUNCIL;"THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO
INCREASE THE DOLLAR AMOUNT OF CONTRACTS, PURCHASES, AND
UNDERTAKINGS REQUIRING COUNCIL APPROVAL, FROM FIVE THOUSAND
