Mr. Adams secorrl- <br />ed the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. '!horrpson moved denial of Agudas Israel's request for an extension, am <br />Mr. Adams seconded the motion. All voted Aye except Mr. Wagner, who voted <br />Nay. '!he motion carried by a vote of five to one. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman did not understand hO'iN Council could judge the appropriateness <br />of the roof screE>.ning at this ti1ne. Mr. Ollendorff said the roof screening <br />was virtually done, am in the opinion of City staff, in a workmanlike way. <br /> <br />Mr. Price felt the use of a tent should not be considered until all of the <br />work that was to be done originally is complete. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus suggested Council proceed with approving the corrlitional use <br />pennit urrler the original fonnat, with the proviso that rooftop screening is <br />to be campleted within seven days. She also proposed that a decision on <br />tent use be tabled or postponed until Council has additional infonnation. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman agreed, suggesting that she, Mr. Wagner, am pertlaps the Mayor <br />meet with synagOSJUe representatives as well as neighbors to try to work out <br />the details am resolve the concerns expressed. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams asked if the landscape contract called for plantings in the rear of <br />the property. Mr. Ollendorff said there would be railroad ties on the south- <br />east comer of the site. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved to table the request for tent use until all parties involved <br />have a better understarrling of what is being requested. Mr. Adams said this <br />issue was not part of the oriqinal application am he felt Council did not <br />have to deal with it at this ti1ne. Mr. Wagner withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval of thE~ conditional use pe:nnit as submitted with the <br />proviso that rooftop screening be completed within seven days or the pennit <br />becomes null am void. Mrs. Schuman seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. G. P. Ferguson, 553 westview, said Agudas Israel completely decimated the <br />bushes installed by the City 20 years ago to serve as a buffer between his <br />subdivision am the conunercial area. Also, tall IX>Sts have :been installed in <br />the rear of the property on which a canopy is apparently to be placed so mem- <br />bers may eat outside. He said the synagogue does not seem to be aware of the <br />
