<br />SESSION 1548 <br /> <br />.---- <br /> <br />MINUl'ES OF '!HE UNIVERSITY CITY CXXJNCIL <br /> <br />June 17, 1991 <br /> <br />At a regular meetirg of the City Council of University City, held in the As- <br />sembly Room of City Hall on Morday, June 17, 1991, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- <br />sided arxl called the meetirg to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Milly V. SChuman <br />Mr. Paul E. SChoamer <br />Mrs. Betty L. 1.hanpson <br /> <br />Absent: Counci1members Byron R. Price, arxl Joseph L. Adams, Jr., both of <br />whom were excused. <br /> <br />MINUl'ES <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner noved approval of the minutes of the May 15, 1991 budget study <br />meeting as submitted. Mr. Schoomer seconded the Irotion. Mrs. Schuman asked <br />for a clarification on page 3, noting the minutes stated that less refuse was <br />going to the landfill, but the fees continued to increase. She asked if the <br />main reason was because of the surcharge imposed by the state Legislature. <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that was correct. 1.he City Clerk said that clarification <br />will be made before the minutes are distributed. All voted Aye. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REroRl'S <br /> <br />CDNSENl' CAI.ENDAR (SIX ITEMS) <br /> <br />street Imoroveme.nt Assessments (#1). Council annually sets the rate to be <br />assessed against adjacent property for street inproveme.nts, which is based on <br />25% of the current cost. Since there seems to have been no change in costs <br />over last year, it was recorranended that the rate remain the same-$18. 35 per <br />front foot for street ilrprovements; $11.11 per abutting front foot for alleys <br />arxl half those amounts for abuttirg side yard footage. <br /> <br />Olive Central TIF Annual statement (#2). 1.he Olive Boulevard Central Tax In- <br />crement Finance District has st.'hmitted its annual report arxl statement to the <br />City Council as required by state statute. Approval was reconmended. <br /> <br />Reauest bv Missouri Public Interest Research Group for Penni.t to Solicit (#3) <br />Missouri Public Interest Research Group (MoPIRG) applied for its annual soli- <br />citation pennit, to be conducted door-to-door July 1-21, 1991 during daylight <br />hours by about 20 paid canvassers. Solicitors will ask for signature support <br />arxl financial contributions. <br /> <br />site Plan Extension - 7170 Vernon Avenue (#4). A six-Ironth extension for the <br />corrpletion of the required lamscaping at the autq.notive service facility at <br />7170 Vernon was recommerrled. All previous requirements remain in place. <br />
