SESSION 1548 .---- MINUl'ES OF '!HE UNIVERSITY CITY CXXJNCIL June 17, 1991 At a regular meetirg of the City Council of University City, held in the As- sembly Room of City Hall on Morday, June 17, 1991, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- sided arxl called the meetirg to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Robert G. Wagner Mrs. Milly V. SChuman Mr. Paul E. SChoamer Mrs. Betty L. 1.hanpson Absent: Counci1members Byron R. Price, arxl Joseph L. Adams, Jr., both of whom were excused. MINUl'ES Mr. Wagner noved approval of the minutes of the May 15, 1991 budget study meeting as submitted. Mr. Schoomer seconded the Irotion. Mrs. Schuman asked for a clarification on page 3, noting the minutes stated that less refuse was going to the landfill, but the fees continued to increase. She asked if the main reason was because of the surcharge imposed by the state Legislature. Mr. Ollendorff said that was correct. 1.he City Clerk said that clarification will be made before the minutes are distributed. All voted Aye. Council annually sets the rate to be assessed against adjacent property for street inproveme.nts, which is based on 25% of the current cost. Since there seems to have been no change in costs over last year, it was recorranended that the rate remain the same-$18. 35 per front foot for street ilrprovements; $11.11 per abutting front foot for alleys arxl half those amounts for abuttirg side yard footage. Olive Central TIF Annual statement (#2). 1.he Olive Boulevard Central Tax In- crement Finance District has st.'hmitted its annual report arxl statement to the City Council as required by state statute. Approval was reconmended. Reauest bv Missouri Public Interest Research Group for Penni.t to Solicit (#3) Missouri Public Interest Research Group (MoPIRG) applied for its annual soli- citation pennit, to be conducted door-to-door July 1-21, 1991 during daylight hours by about 20 paid canvassers. Solicitors will ask for signature support arxl financial contributions. site Plan Extension - 7170 Vernon Avenue (#4). A six-Ironth extension for the corrpletion of the required lamscaping at the autq.notive service facility at 7170 Vernon was recommerrled. All previous requirements remain in place.
