<br />SESSION 1540 <br /> <br />MINl1I'ES OF 'IHE UNIVERSITY CI'lY CXXJNCIL <br /> <br />April 15, 1991 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the city Council of university City held in the As- <br />sembly Room of City Hall on Monday, April 15, 1991, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- <br />sided and called the Inet=ting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the followinq members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Price <br />Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Mary V. SChuman <br />Mr. Paul E. SChoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. '!hcmpson <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff, and Washinqton University <br />student representative Olris Mueller. <br /> <br />MINUl'ES <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the April 1, 1991 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Price seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AProINIMENI'S <br /> <br />Mr. SChoomer moved that Mr. Carl Seltzer, 8001 Cornell, be appointed to the <br />Municipal Cormnission on Arts and Letters for an unexpired term ending Janu- <br />ary 2, 1994. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus moved the appointment of Ms. Deborah Tharpe, 7299 WestJnoreland, <br />to the Park Cormnission for a tenn expiring January 21, 1994. Mr. Schoomer <br />seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />REroRl' - RABIES CLINIC <br /> <br />Dr. Gary Yavitz, veterinarian in charge of the University City Rabies Clinic, <br />reported a four-fold increase in the use of the Clinic over last year. He <br />credited Shayla Tate and the city's public relations efforts for helping to <br />promote this once-a-year event. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked Dr. Yavitz on behalf of the City and its residents for <br />his generous volunteer work on this project. <br /> <br />RESOllJI'ION - UNIVERSITY CIT(INANC);' S'lUDmr EXCHANGE <br /> <br />Mr. SChoorner read a resolution which welcomed students from Nancy, France to <br />University City and thanked the people of Nancy who have welcomed University <br />city students into their homes. He then recognized Dr. Anna Amelung of Uni- <br />versity city High School, who introduced the French and American students who <br />were present. She said the prCXJrCID1 has been enonnously successful and she <br />hoped it would continue for many more years. '!here was a round of applause. <br />
