<br />SESSION 1578 <br /> <br />MINUI'ES OF '!HE UNIVERSITY CITY CXXJNCIL <br /> <br />october 5, 1992 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City council of university City held in the As- <br />sembly Roam of City Hall on Momay, october 5, 1992, Mayor Janet Majerus pre- <br />sided arrl called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the following members of the council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Price <br />Mr. Josept L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mrs. Mary V. Sdl\.nnan <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoaner <br />Mrs. Betty L. 'Ihanpson <br /> <br />Absent: councilmeInber Robert G. Mr. <br />Schoomer secorrled the notion. Mrs. Schuman noted that the minutes were now <br />printed on both sides of the paper. All voted Aye. <br /> <br />WASHINGIDN UNIVERSITY S'IUDEN!' RF.PRESENTATIVE REroRI' <br /> <br />Ms. Michelle Brodsky, washington University student liaison to the City Coun- <br />cil, announced. that the University won its hanecani.ng game, but an even more <br />special event will cxx:ur on october 11, when the first of three presidential <br />debates will take place at the Fieldhouse, with all three carrlidates attend- <br />ing. Other u:pccming events feature several well-known speakers, including <br />Mario Vargas IJ.osa on October 18 at 4 p.m. at Edison '!heater. Mayor Majerus <br />said this last event will be held in conjl.U1Ction with "Writers in Politics," <br />a writer's conference in which. she will serve on a discussion panel. Bids were received September 16 for <br />fumishin:J snow arrl ice control salt to University City arrl 23 other conununi- <br />ties as part of a cooperative salt purchase program, as follows: <br />
