Regular Meeting
March 7, 2005

Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing open at 6:40 P.M. and since there were no
speakers the Public Hearing was declared closed at 6:40 P.M.

Agenda Item # Three – Public Hearing on Zoning Ordinance – Medium Density
District

A Public Hearing scheduled for 6:30 P.M. this date and place is for the consideration of
adding single-family detached dwellings as a conditional use in the Medium Density
Residential District as recommended by the Plan Commission and the Planning staff.
We currently have many single-family homes in Medium Density zones, which
technically are non-conforming users. This change would allow them to continue and
for additional residences to be constructed upon Council approval of a conditional use
permit. The ordinance pertaining thereto may be adopted following the Public Hearing.

Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing open at 6: 41 P.M. and as there were no
speakers he declared the Public Hearing closed at 6:41 P.M.

Agenda Item # Four – Public Hearing for 6901 Olive Alley Vacating

th
The City Manager recommended 6:30 P.M. on March 28, 2005, as the date to hold a
Public Hearing on the vacating of an unpaved public right-of-way alley, north of 6901
Olive Boulevard. This property serves no public need and will be utilized for a new retail
store as called for in the University City Comprehensive Development Plan. The
request for vacating comes from a developer who wants to utilize the property to build a
retail store. A Public Hearing is usually established by the City Council before a decision
is made.

Ms. Colquitt asked that residents receive notices well in advance of the Public Hearing
because she was aware of several of them are very interested in this alley. Mr.
Ollendorff said the customary procedure was to advise automatically the abutting,
immediately-neighboring property owner and asked if she would like the notice
extended to neighbors a little further from this position, a few doors in each direction,
and she responded yes. Mr. Ollendorff said to the 6900 block of Bartmer would be
logical.

Ms. Colquitt moved to adopt and Ms. Brot seconded and the motion passed
unanimously.

Agenda Item # Five – Public Hearing on Zoning Ordinance Planned Development
– Mixed Use

A Public Hearing has been scheduled for this time and place for public comment on the
proposed new mixed-use zoning district with regulations recommended by the Plan
Commission.
Page 4
