SESSION 1713 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />JANUARY 5, 1998 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council <br />Chamber of City Hall on Monday, January 5, 1998, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called <br />the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in addition to the Mayor, the following members <br />of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne !. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of December 15, 1997. Mr. Sharpe <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - TDMO - LOOP SPECIAL BENEFIT TAX DISTRICT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read a resolution which recognizes the designation of the University <br />City Loop Special Business District as the alternative tourism designation marketing <br />organization for our area by the Missouri Division of Tourism. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS #1 IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT: <br /> <br />City Clerk Leisha Meine noted that the date on page two of the resolution, <br />paragraph 2, should be changed from December 12, 1997 to December 16, 1997. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman noticed that the petition asked that engineering and specifications be <br />prepared for the improvements and he was wondering who would be paying for <br />them. Mr. Schoomer said that the District would be paying for them. Mr. Schoomer <br />explained further that this was a tax that will be imposed to all the members of the <br />district for their own improvements that would be guaranteed by the City of <br />
