Session 1713, Minutes
January 5, 1998

The City Manager recommends awarding each proled to the low bidder, as follows:
Brooks (2) for $6,850, A-1 Good (2) for $10,810, Sutter (3) for $13,650.

Mr. Schoomer moved adoption of the consent calendar. Mr. Wagner seconded the
motion, which carried unanimously.

AGENDA NO. 2: CONDOMINIUM PLAT - 8500 OLD BONHOMME:

Mr. Ollendorff stated that the Plan Commission recommends, and he agrees, that
the plat for the Oakbrook Forest Condominiums can be approved at this time, which
is located at 8500 Old Bonhomme. This would take a building which currently has
twenty rental apartments and turn them into condominiums. All requirements of city
ordinances are met.

Mr. Lieberman said that he had asked a few questions at the Plan Commission
meeting and he also wished to make them clear to Council, as well. He asked
whether or not there would be any evictions, as a result of this conversion. Mr.
Ollendorff replied that he was assured that there would not be, that leases would be
honored and that residents would have the opportunity to purchase. Mr. Lieherman
asked if the tenants had agreed to buy, when their leases expire. Mr. OIlendorff
responded that they had not agreed to buy, rather the owners have agreed to give
the tenants a choice to buy, if they so desired. Responding further to Mr. Lieherman,
Mr. Ollendorff was not sure of the value of the project.

Mr. David Neiers, 212 S. Central Ave., attorney for the appJicant, said that the
applicant intends to honor all leases and will not evict any tenant, who has not
breached the lease. The applicant will offer all tenants the opportunity to purchase
the condominium unit, in which they are currently residing, at the price of $65,000.
The price for non-tenants would be somewhat higher, around $68,000.

Mr. Lieberman moved adoption of the project. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion,
which carried unanimously.

PERSONNEL REPORT:

Mayor Adams noted the personnel report for the week ending January 2, 1998, and
ordered it filed.
