Regular meeting
June 27, 2005

background that the Mayor and some of the others have, so she would like to work with
her senior colleague. Mayor Adams said this has to be totally open ended, because
what may work for one city may not work for another. A cookie-cutter questionnaire
would not work. Ms. Brot asked if the city manager could give the Council a list of the
cooperative arrangements that the City is already involved in. This will allow the
Council to have a full awareness of what is happening currently before going forward to
these cities.

Mr. Wagner asked the Mayor to ask the cities to acknowledge a councilmember liaison
so that they will have someone targeted to talk to. Mayor Adams said that he would do
so.

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS II:

Mr. Wagner asked the city manager to go back to the large packet envelopes instead of
stuffing packet materials in the little envelopes. Ms. Brot mentioned that the Council in
San Francisco didn’t have all these papers; they had laptops. They also had a very
good sound system and subtitles on a monitor and a much more acceptable ambience
between the Council and the audience.

Ms. Welsch would like to go on record in support of a paperless agenda and laptops.
Mr. Wagner said that the Council just ordered one laptop and PowerPoint projector, so
we are getting there slowly, but surely.

Mayor Adams noted that the next regular session of the City Council would be at 6:30
p.m. on July 18, 2005. The Council will be holding a special meeting tomorrow at 4:30
p.m. The Council will now readjourn to the earlier executive session. Mayor Adams
adjourned the meeting at 8:53 p.m.

_______________________________
Leisha Meine Forsythe
City Clerk

Page 24
