Council Agenda Item Cover
_____________________________________________________________________
MEETING DATE:
May 4, 2009
AGENDA ITEM TITLE:
Resolution for FY09 Budget Amendment #2
AGENDA SECTION:
New Business
CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? :
Yes
BACKGROUND REVIEW:
Attached is the second budget amendment of the year.
This amendment incorporates one expenditure increase and four areas of transfer.
Reallocation of Court and Parking Revenue
1) – To record the amount of revenue
received for parking fines clearer in the budget, an additional account entitled
“Parking Fines” was established, and the account named “Parking Revenue” was
renamed “Parking Meters”. The budgeted revenue was reallocated to the
appropriate accounts.
Billboard Attendant
2)– In FY08, the billboard attendant was supervised by Public
Relations. With the reduction in PR staff, the costs for the attendant were budgeted
in Legislative Services, but the supervision was actually performed from the City
Manager’s Office. This transfer moves the billboard attendant to the City Manager’s
Office program.
Heman Pool Grill Enhancement
3) – A new federal law requires enhancement to the
pool grills and filter system. This item was discussed at the March 23, 2009 Council
meeting and funds from contingency were approved for this purpose.
Sewer Later Repair
4) – Requests for sewer lateral repair were greater than planned
and this amendment increases the amount available for repairs. This increased
level of program expense is still below the amount of annual revenue for the
program.
The resolution for approval of the amendment is attached, as well as details of the
budget amendment.
This amendment will affect the related funds in the following manner:
No change to the General Fund reserve.
Use of more annual revenue of the Sewer Lateral Fund. No use of reserves.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval
