Nova Felton, 8031 Noel Ct.
Ms. Felton agreed with Ms. Brot on the necessity of maintaining existing inspections
as it meant safety and neighborhood stability. She stated there should be no cuts to
the police, community development or refuse departments as they keep the city safe
clean and operating. Ms. Felton stated that $11,000 could be saved by the City in
not allowing the Fire Chief to commute in City owned vehicle. She also felt that the
Fire Chief should be required to live in University City.

Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave
Mr. Dockett agreed with Stefany Brot insisting that inspections not be cut for budget
purposes. Regular inspections maintain the integrity of the neighborhoods.

Wilma Kennell, 1332 Purdue
Ms. Kennell was not in favor of eliminating the leaf pick-up program but could see it
being reduced to two pick-ups. She was concerned with possible glut of
condominiums with the new project just approved at Vernon and Kingsland.

COUNCIL COMMENTS
Mr. Price asked the City Manger to go to each department and ask each to use their
ingenuity in finding ways to enhance revenue growth instead of what can be reduced
and report back to him. He also would like to increase the relationship between the
City and School by making a program as, “University City Becomes a City of
Destination.”

Mr. Crow agreed with Mr. Price in looking for revenue enhancements. He also
called for citizens’ comments on revenue enhancements and to become involved in
the budget process of the City. Mr. Crow also asked for a report from the driving
range committee and about a soil erosion issue at the golf course. He also would
like to see a partnership with the City and the School District.

Ms. Ricci forwarded an article to the Council and City Manger “Best Practices”. She
asked Ms. Feier to get back to her as to which of the “Best Practices” listed the City
is using, so the citizens can best participate in the budget process. Ms. Ricci would
like to know from the City Manager which “Best Practices” the City is not using and
how we might implement them.

Mr. Wagner moved to go into an Executive Session, seconded by Mr. Sharpe.
Roll Call vote was:
AYES: Mr. Price, Ms. Ricci, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Crow, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe, and
Mayor Adams
NAYS: none

Joyce Pumm,
City Clerk
