In <br />2007,tthe City deteermined thaat it could reealize cost ssavings by ccontracting out for mowwing <br />services, resulting in a reductioon in force inn the Publicc Works Streeet Division. Based on the <br />City’sssuccessful eexperience inn 2008 withh this contraact, the City bid this season’s contract <br />with twoo additional optional yeaars. The Citty budgeted $50,000 for the mowingg season. Each <br />season, the vacantt lots are cuut every 10 – 14 days, allowing forr approximattely 25 mowwing <br />cycles.
