This system is to be up and running by 2012 according to federal <br />mandates. <br />Mr. Price called for the question with Mr. Wagner seconding Mr. Price’s motion, stating that <br />he would like to leave this meeting with a balanced budget. Mr. Wagner emphasized that <br />this was the framework of a balanced budget and the Council is not done and hopes that <br />someone will have more suggestions. <br />Ms. Ricci wondered why the Council did not ask any questions of the Human Resource <br />Director Ms. Williams as she must have been excused after Mayor Adams did not have <br />anyone address her with any questions. <br />Mr. Wagner stated that the deficit reductions presented tonight are still part of the draft <br />budget. <br />Mr. Price stated that additional savings can be added at, June 1, 2009, Council meeting by <br />making amendments to this motion. <br />Voice vote gave majority approval with one Nay vote from Ms. Ricci. <br />Ms. Ricci noted that she has a fundamental problem with taking Economic Development <br />money that was designated for a specific purpose and what was just passed was not it. <br />She does fully support a balanced budget. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br />Submitted by <br />Joyce Pumm, City Clerk <br />* <br />Mr. Wagner requested it be noted at the end of these minutes, that he and Mr. Price <br /> determined after this study session not to approve the $120,000 to be taken from the <br /> Economic Development Tax to pay for lighting. <br /> <br />
