<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />June 1, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the <br />City Hall, on Monday, June 1, 2009, Mayor pro tem Arthur Sharpe, Jr. called the <br />meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In addition to Mayor pro tem, the following members of <br />the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br />Mayor Adams had an excused absence. <br />Also in attendance were City Manager Julie Feier and City Attorney John Mulligan. <br /> <br />C. PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. May 14, 2009, Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Crow and <br />were approved unanimously. Ms. Ricci asked to have the City Clerk attach to the <br />minutes of May 14, 2009, her comments/changes to the minutes, for the records. <br />2. May 18, 2009, Regular Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Price <br />and were approved unanimously. Ms. Ricci asked to have the City Clerk attach <br />to the minutes of May 18, 2009, her comments/changes to the minutes, for the <br />record. <br />3. May 18, 2009, Special/Study Session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. <br />Glickert and were approved unanimously. Ms. Ricci asked to have the City Clerk <br />attach to the minutes of May 18, 2009, her comments/changes to the minutes, for <br />the record <br /> <br />E. APPOINTMENTS <br />1. David Damick was appointed to the Civil Service Board by Mr. Glickert, <br /> seconded by Mr. Price and was approved unanimously. <br />. <br />F. SWEARING IN <br />Ms. Luise Hoffman was sworn in to the Library Board in the City Clerk’s office. <br /> <br />G. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />1. <br />CDBG Public Hearing was opened at 6:35. The City Clerk read the CDBG Public <br />Hearing Notice <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />a) Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert asked if the economic level of the City’s citizens have improved <br />because of the cut in funding. She noted that the allocation had been done <br />by staff before any input from the citizens. Ms. Glickert felt the $5,000 under <br />public scholarship could better be served in rehabilitation of private <br />properties, our greatest asset. Recycled rehabilitation funds will benefit <br />many over the years and the scholarship helps only one person. <br />The Public Hearing for the CDBG was closed at 6:45 p.m. <br />2. <br />FY 10 Budget Public Hearing was opened at 6:47 p.m. <br /> <br />
