The City <br />has the ability to purchase from a current competitively bid contract through Zoll <br />Medical Corporation as a member of the Fire Rescue GPO contracts group. This <br />cooperative contract has been advertised and competitively bid by National <br />Purchasing Partners and is open for use by any government entity which has an <br />interest to participate by executing an Intergovermental Agreement with no cost to the <br />entity. This contract meets the City’s requirement for competitive bids and all <br />supporting documentation has been provided by the lead agency to the City’s <br />purchasing office. <br />The Fire Department has purchased and successfully utilized equipment from Zoll <br />Medical in the past. These prices are only secure through September due to the end <br />of a contract year and staff believe this has prompted greater than normal trade-in <br />values. <br />Price -2 UnitsLess Trade-In-2 Units Total <br /> $52,580.60 $10,000 $42,580.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that Council approve the amount of <br />$42,580.60 for the purchase of two defibrillators and accessories from Zoll Medical <br />Corporation, Chelmsford, Massachusetts. <br /> <br />
