PUBLIC HEARINGS

H. CONSENT AGENDA
1.
Asphalt Overlay Improvements
Every two years, Public Works rates University City Streets on a scale of 1 (failed
condition) to 10 (excellent condition). The City has sought to maintain streets at six
or above. This then determines maintenance budget. Recommendation and
approval went to low bidder of Byrne and Jones Construction with first years at
$53,419.40, second year at $93,455.04 and third year at $72,360.39.
2.
Mobile Inspection Laptops
The laptops will allow up to 12 inspectors to be able to complete inspections in the
field. Staff recommended purchasing Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 from single
bidder of Worldwide Technology for $47,294.76.
3.
Parking Lot #5 – Permeable Concrete Interlocking Pavement Project
City parking lot #5 across from Post Office had severe alligator cracking and
potholing. Because of MSD now charging additional for impervious areas the City
will use this as a test to change lot #5 as a pilot project to install permeable concrete
interlocking pavers. Bid was not given to low bidder due to lack of previous work
experience with these pavers. Bid was awarded to Concrete Design for
$129,823.75.
