<br /> <br /> The City will analyze its street lighting to develop a comprehensive approach to <br />reduce energy use and cost. <br /> <br /> The City will revise its Building and Zoning codes to align with sustainable design, <br />construction and operating best practices. <br /> <br /> The City will develop an Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy (EPP) to <br />obtain the most sustainable products made. <br /> <br /> The City will define the parameters for capital projects and the respective return on <br />investment expectations. <br /> <br /> The City will conduct community and City staff outreach and education about Green <br />and Sustainable practices. <br /> <br /> The Green Practices Committee will provide periodic briefings and annual reports <br />on progress towards these goals. <br /> <br />The committee will asked the City Council at their next meeting to approve a resolution for <br />community sustainability. <br /> <br />The committee talked about where financing will come from, given the state of the <br />economy. Examples were given of the payback formula when becoming a green <br />community. They will encourage community engagement using the theme: <br />S – smart, <br />M – measurable, <br />A – attained, <br />R – realistic, <br />T – timely, <br />through town hall meetings. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow asked what would be the major cost and it was stated it would be energy audition <br />and master plan, estimated at $25,000.
