Ms. Ricci stated Mr. Crow raised a huge concern for her in that all of the City’s
pension funds are with one fund manager, that is such a risk and she made a motion
to look at the management of the pension money and if it is with one manager, the
City should with all due haste, diversify it. She asked for a second but did not
receive one. Mr. Crow stated he has brought this up three times but wants the
pension board to address it first and come back to the Council. He is in agreement
with Ms. Ricci that it does not make sense to have all money with one manager. Mr.
Crow said that this is the topic for the next pension board meeting. Ms. Ricci asked
the City Manager and Ms. Watson what the time line is for addressing this great risk,
including whom the manager is and what the total sum of the funds is.
Mayor Adams noted the Parkathalon Sept 26, University City’s National Night Out,
Oct 4, presentation on energy regional response plan, Oct 6, and the next Council
meeting and study session, Oct 12.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
Joyce Pumm
City Clerk
