Burlington Coat Factory will not happen as Seafood City is moving into Value City’s
vacant building. She is concerned about the businesses blooming in this area of
University City. Ms. Weston asked Council to give some thought about what is
happening now on Olive.

M. COUNCIL COMMENTS
Ms. Ricci asked the City Manager to get the ordinance that prohibits the collection of
signatures on a petition. She asked for the City Manager to provide Council with a
report as to what happened in the incident with Mr. Davoli, along with ordinances or
any violations for which he was questioned. Ms. Ricci asked the City Manager to
provide Council with the expenses generated by new golf range from the date it was
opened. Ms. Ricci noted that the City cannot charge citizens for carts if the City
does not take care of them. She asked the City Manager to get Council information
on the training the drivers are receiving or if it is a mechanical issue. Ms. Ricci
asked the City Manager to report back to Council if there was an analysis done on
the safety of the seven feet deep pond. Ms. Ricci stated she was not clear if the
plan was to amend the most recent closed year budget to reflect the AT&T
settlement. Ms. Watson stated that the settlement amount would be included in the
year end close of 2009. Ms. Ricci stated that would be getting into hot water again,
as the City has not actually received it. Finally, Ms. Ricci stated that Ms. Pumm was
asking Council for her review that was due a couple of months ago. She asked
Council if anyone had a form to share or she would be happy to send out one.

Mr. Wagner said Mr. Field was absolutely correct in that the resolution creating the
Ruth Park Golf Committee was to advise the Council on the golf course. They were
to have access to any financial data they requested and asked the City Manager to
see to it that the committee gets what they are asking for. Mr. Wagner wanted to
call attention to the 2009 Parkathalon. He stated that this was the first and is
sponsored by the U City Park Foundation. He noted it would be a family friendly
event on September 26. Mr. Wagner thanked the Green Practices Committee for
their hard work and many hours and outstanding work in pulling together the
resolution passed tonight. This would be the first step of green practices
improvement in U City.

Mr. Glickert thanked the Central West End Word for pointing out to him and others
what the pond entailed. This was the first he was made aware of the width and
depth of the pond. He said that seven feet is a safety issue and he wished the
Council would take the pond into consideration again. Mr. Glickert stated there are
kids that walk trough that park on the way home from Brittany every day. He said
seven feet is over every one of the kid’s heads and also a lot of the golfers’. Next,
Mr. Glickert asked if the City’s website could not be put on some of the City vehicles
as a means to advertise it. Lastly, Mr. Glickert asked the City Manager about
something in Ms. Benford’s report saying we received notification that we are in
compliance with the Missouri State Clearing House for a stimulus fund grant total of
twelve million dollars. Mr. Glickert asked the City Manager if she knew anything
about it and if it was a real possibility that the City could pick up twelve million dollars
in a grant. Ms. Feier stated that we meet criteria. He then asked when the City
would find out anything. Ms. Feier stated she would find out and get back with it.
