Missouri Department of Economic On Tuesday, October 27, 10:00 AM-12 PM, the Development will host a webinar on Local Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and Transportation Development District (TDD) Annual Report Instructions & Issues. Hal Van Slyck, Incentives Specialist with Department of Economic Development, will lead the session. He will step communities through the required reporting for designated Local TIFs and TDDs. Under legislation passed earlier this year, there are serious penalties for not reporting or even filing reports late. Cities filing late may not initiate another TIF project for 5 years and a late TDD report initiates a $500 PER DAY fine. 5-year update to the All Hazard Mitigation Plan The draft of the for the Missouri portion of the St. Louis region adopted by Council in August is now available on East- West Gateway's Website at www.ewgateway.org/ProgProj/Emergency_Response/HazMit/hazmit.htm. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires that these plans be updated and re-adopted every five years. As part of the review process, East-West Gateway is urging local municipalities, counties and school districts to review and comment on their county’s portion of the Plan and to formally adopt a resolution in support of the Plan. By adoption of this resolution, those participating jurisdictions will be eligible to receive federal mitigation grant funding. To maintain funding eligibility, all municipalities and school districts should submit the resolution no later than the end of October. The recommendations contained in this Plan are guidelines for voluntary actions. Therefore, this Plan is a voluntary process that in no way states or implies the acceptance of any liability for the success or failure of the program. Missouri Weatherization Program - Housing Initiative Survey The Missouri Department of Natural Resources would like to inform you about an upcoming funding opportunity under the Weatherization Assistance Program. The specific funding opportunity that soon will be available is focused on increasing the effective and efficient delivery of energy-efficiency services to Missouri lower-income families. The Department is seeking innovative or non-traditional ideas to create greater benefit for Missouri lower-income families in the areas of energy efficiency and housing quality. This Website will take you to a survey through which you can briefly offer your ideas for innovative projects under the Weatherization Assistance Program. Survey responses will be used to help the Department of Natural Resources take the next steps that will lead to selection of projects for funding. Survey responses also will help the Department structure a set of outreach meetings later this fall with organizations interested in being considered for project funding.
