SESSION 1673 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 29, 1996 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber of City Hall on <br />Monday, July 29, 1996, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition <br />to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorf~. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />July 8, 1996 <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the minutes of the regular meeting held July 8, 1996, as submitted. Mr. <br />Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />July 15, 1996 <br />Mr. Ware moved that the minutes of the special meeting held July 15, 1996, be approved as submitted. <br />Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />Supporting Countywide Local Use Tax <br />Mayor Adams called attention to a resolution on the City Clerk's docket which states Council's support <br />for the proposed Countywide local use tax to be voted on August 6, 1996. Mayor Adams encouraged <br />councilmembers to urge their constituents to vote for this measure, which replaces the tax recently struck <br />down by the courts. Mayor Adams moved approval. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Agreement With Missouri Highway Department <br />Mayor Adams said this resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Mis- <br />souri Highway and Transportation Department for ISTEA funds to finance transportation enhancement <br />activities on Delmar from the MetroLink station to the Delmar Loop Business District. Mayor Adams <br />moved approval and Mr. Wagner seconded the motion. All voted Aye. <br /> <br /> <br />
