Regular meeting
January 09, 2006

AN ORDINANCE AFFIRMING EMPLOYMENT FOR CERTAIN CITY EMPLOYEES.

This bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8848.

Comments:
Ms. Welsch wanted to note that she was not very pleased with the City Hall's new phone
system. She did not like the fact that each department had the option of deciding whether a
caller would receive a live voice or a canned voice offering many menu options. Ms. Welsch
would like the Council to discuss this unpleasant option. The way City Hall answers their
phone says a lot of how we service our constituents. Ms. Welsch feels that the only way a
phone call should go into a menu is when there is no one available to answer the phone.

Ms. Brungardt requested Council to join her in sending some kind of a formal letter, to the
Parks Dept., the Centennial Commons employees, and all the employees who worked so
diligently in getting the Centennial Commons open on time.

Mayor Adams said he was working on it and said he had planned to have a formal resolution
thanking all of the people who participated in the Centennial opening, signed by all of the
Council.

Mayor Adams concluded the Regular Session at 9:30 p.m.

Joyce Pumm
City Clerk

Page 11
